A big 67ins span built and covered balsa framed Cub for a SONG!
We just don't know how the factory manages to produce an immaculately covered, pinned hinges fitted (contrary to the instructions!), decals and trim applied, adjustable metal engine mount fitted, pushrods assembled, phew, the list just goes on, - for the very modest amount of money required to obtain ownership of this classic.
I'm gazing down at the excellent quality black anodised swivelling tail wheel bracket assembly and can see too they've even included scale finish lightweight foamy wheels - as opposed to the heavy traditional types.
There's a solid fuel tank, yellow ABS cowl and nicely detailed ABS cylinder heads and rocker covers too. Holding up a wing panel I can see a properly sheeted D-box leading edge, beautifully pinned and glued hinges - with no film perforations - hmmmm, these fellers really know how to cover a plane!
Peering down at the wing root - which is the 'signature' structure for judging the general quality of a balsa aircraft, I'm delighted to confirm perfect covering, perfect no-mess gluing, perfect quality creamy balsa, with a perfectly rounded leading edge and a nice slow-flying flat bottom section.
Very tidy.
